Privacy Policy for the Scriptario Browser Extension
This policy explains how the Scriptario browser extension handles information when you record a meeting and send it to your Scriptario account for transcription.
The extension is a companion to the Scriptario web application at scriptario.com and staging.scriptario.com. Contact: hello@scriptario.com.
1. Data the extension handles
The extension processes only the information required to provide recording, upload, transcription and account continuity.
- Microphone audio and tab or screen recordings that you explicitly choose to capture.
- Your Scriptario authentication token and account email, used to connect the extension to the signed-in account.
- Recording and upload state, extension version, environment and technical error metadata needed to operate and secure the service.
2. Browser permissions
The extension requests storage, tabs, offscreen, notifications, scripting, activeTab and tabCapture permissions. They are used to keep recording state, capture the source you select, display recording controls, continue recording while the popup is closed and notify you when an upload finishes. The extension does not request browsing history, cookies, geolocation, contacts or access to all websites.
3. How data is used
Recordings are uploaded over HTTPS to the Scriptario API and processed to create transcripts, summaries and related features in your account. Authentication data is used only to authorize those requests. Operational telemetry is used to diagnose crashes, failed uploads and performance problems; telemetry payloads are scrubbed to exclude tokens, email addresses, recording content and transcript text.
4. Where data is sent
Production recordings are sent to https://api.scriptario.com. Staging recordings are sent through the Scriptario staging application to https://app.staging.transcripta.ru. First-party operational telemetry may be sent to Scriptario's monitoring endpoint at https://grafana.transcripta.ru. The extension does not send data to advertising networks and does not load remote executable code.
5. Storage and retention
Authentication and recording state are stored locally in chrome.storage.local and are removed when you sign out, the token expires, browser data is cleared or the extension is uninstalled. Uploaded recordings and transcripts follow the retention and deletion rules in the Scriptario Privacy Policy. You can delete content in the application or request account deletion at hello@scriptario.com.
6. Sharing and sale
We do not sell personal data. We do not use extension data for advertising, credit decisions or unrelated profiling. Service providers may process data only as needed to host, secure and operate Scriptario under contractual safeguards.
7. Security and changes
All network traffic uses HTTPS. The extension's executable code is packaged with the extension and its Content Security Policy allows scripts only from the extension itself. Material policy changes will be reflected on this page and in the extension release information.
8. Contact
